This Week is all About De-Hoarding

Hello Everyone! This week is all about de-hoarding. As you may remember from my post last week, my landlord is selling the building. Well on Monday I wake up to a bunch of noise so I go outside to see what’s happening and he’s tearing down the back section of the building.

The back section of the building was this nasty, rotting, about to fall down, two story section that had a small windowless room. The perfect place to store a bunch of stuff you don’t have room for in your apartment. Mind you this is where I’ve been storing a bunch of stuff since I moved in. Obviously I quickly moved all my stuff I wanted to keep into my actual apartment so it wouldn’t get destroyed. Meaning my place is now chalk full of stuff!

Over the last couple nights I’ve been going through and throwing away the crap I don’t need and finding some cool stuff I forgot I had! About half the stuff in these totes went right into the trash. And some of the stuff got ruined from being in an outdoor type of space. I haven’t touched most of this stuff in three years so anything that was lost isn’t actually a loss.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but never got around to doing it. A great example of something you spend so much time planning that you never actually do it. I’m so glad I’m doing it now though. Gives me the ambition to continue on and go through the rest of the apartment.

On a sarcastically positive note: if I end up having to move when the new owner buys the building at least I’ve done all the hard stuff and I’m down to the essentials in my apartment. Meaning less to pack and less to move.

Right now I’m sitting at the laundry mat making sure my clothes are ready for Mercy Honor Night, tomorrow. I’m excited to go but I’m also dreading not having the night to finish cleaning out my apartment. Look forward to a post on that sometime this weekend.

It’s been a few months since I moved into the basement and moved here with the primary intention of saving for a down payment and improving my financial position. I’ve made a lot of progress to that end and now I’m focusing on the second phase. I’m going to break this down into 3 components. These are the three areas of my financial plan to buy a house.

I uploaded a new YouTube video! I recorded this last week before I went to Bangor. I got excited and sat down to practice filming. This isn’t perfect and I didn’t bother replacing the audio from the camera with the lapel microphone. But here it is! Help me out my watching it and going and subscribing to my channel!

I did it. I uploaded my first video to YouTube. I don’t think it’s anything impressive but I bit the bullet and did it. I’ve included my first video in this post. There is a very high chance that the video will only be available on this post at some point in the very near future. haha!

For anybody that knows me, sewing is not something you would picture me doing. In fact I’m a little surprised myself that I got interested in this. But I needed something to occupy my time. With most other aspects of my life being virtual I needed something tangible that I could do with my hands. So after some strange occurrences a new passion is born.
