Friday night was the annual event to recognize coworkers who have achieved years of service milestones and special awards; Mercy Honor Night. I’ve always enjoyed attending this event because you get to see people who you don’t regularly interact with. It’s always great to say hi to the people you haven’t seen in a while. Each year is different depending on who attends and who you end up sitting with.
This year I decided to invite Jessica B since she no longer works at Mercy and I knew she would have a great time. I’m glad I did because she introduced me to a new group of people I don’t normally get to work with. It always amazes me just how many people work at the hospital and how few of them you actually work directly with.
Next year I will be honored for 10 years of service. Just the thought of that makes me wonder where the time went. That’s a big milestone!
